Associa Sierra North Turns Dysfunctional Leadership Around

This 67-unit condo/townhome community located in Reno, Nevada has been managed by Associa Sierra North since 2019.

Challenge:

The community’s board didn’t understand their role and fiduciary obligations, leading to complaints being filed with the Nevada Ombudsman’s Office. Despite meeting frequently, the board (with many of the members living out of town) was not getting much done, and the community’s property value was deteriorating.

Resolution:

Associa Sierra North assigned a mature association manager to the community. The manager brought strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills from years of experience to the dysfunctional board. Within three months, he turned leadership around without losing any board members. Complaints to the state stopped, timely maintenance was being performed, and board members were made to feel respected and valued in adjusted roles.
